New Range of Healthcare PPE
Almost 4 weeks since taking the decision to temporarily close production, following the Prime Ministers “lockdown announcement,” Specialised Canvas has now supplied more than 75’000 face shields to UK healthcare workers, including Hospitals, GP Surgeries, Dental Practices and Care Homes.
In addition to the upscaling of face shield production, which now has a weekly capacity of 35’000 units, Specialised Canvas has also developed a wider range of PPE as a result of the significant levels of feedback and enquiries received from existing customers within the healthcare industry.
The new product range, which is in high demand to support the work of the NHS and Care sectors, includes reusable aprons, isolation gowns, protective sleeves, head scrubs and protective screening. These are produced in the company’s UK facility and are being shipped direct to the users on a daily basis, providing the quickest supply chain possible.
Paul Noble, Managing Director of Specialised Canvas Group commented, “it’s hard to comprehend that 4 weeks ago we were closing our doors and not knowing when we might open them again, for the first time in over 40 years. One phone call the following day changed all of that, and I am extremely proud of the way our team has responded and the role they are playing in supporting the UK’s amazing key workers during this pandemic.”

Furthermore, all of the new PPE products we’ve developed utilise the same materials and machines as our standard everyday products, meaning we’re able to produce excellent quality protective equipment that will hopefully help to save many lives.”
